Ancestry.com Death Records Contest - Research, Enter and Win

Ancestry.com has announced a Death Records Contest at www.ancestry.com/death.  Here is the page for it:

In the upper right of the screen above, there is a link to a Death Record Challenge.  There are six different contests during the next two weeks, and all entrants will have a chance at a new iPad as a Grand Prize.  The contests will have questions that require the participant to dig through death records, thus helping them practice their skills.

You can click on the green "Start Digging" button (www.ancestry.com/deathcontest) and see this screen:

The screen above shows the first contest - you can dig in Ancestry records and find the answer, then submit your answer to win the first prize.  This first contest ends on Tuesday, 16 October 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EDT (8:59 p.m. PDT).

Look for contest announcements on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the www.ancestry.com/deathcontest site..  There will be prizes for the Monday and Wednesday contests, but not for the Friday contests.  Entrants for all contests will be entered into the Grand Prize (an Apple iPad) drawing.

The prizes for each day are as follows:

Monday Oct. 15 - $100 Amazon.com gift certificate
Wednesday Oct. 17 – Family Tree Maker, User Guide, & Advanced User Guide (Approximate Retail Value “ARV” - $114)
Monday Oct. 22 – US Deluxe year membership (ARV - $155)
Wednesday Oct. 24 - AncestryDNA test (ARV - $99)
Monday Oct. 29 - $100 Spafinder.com gift certificate
Wednesday Oct. 31 – World Explorer year membership (ARV - $299)
Grand Prize: iPad

Ancestry.com has also offered Genea-Musings readers the opportunity to win a free 3-month Ancestry.com World Explorer membership.  I will have two separate contests, and will announce the first contest soon.  My thanks to Ancestry.com for offering Genea-Musings readers this opportunity!

Unfortunately, I was not able to do all the research I could to answer the contest without submitting my credit card info for a "trial" membership.

Thanks for posting this, Randy. I usually slide right past the first page on Ancestry, so I would definitely miss it. Not too hard at all, this one.

The contests would have been fun to take in, but you can only enter if you are resident in the US. Jo
