(Not So) Wordless Wednesday - Post 273: Here Comes the Bride

I'm posting family photographs from my collection on Wednesdays, but they aren't Wordless Wednesday posts like others do - I am incapable of having a wordless post.

Here is a photograph from our wedding albums:

Everyone knows what this is - the organ is playing "Here Comes the Bride" and my beautiful soon-to-be wife is glowing with expectations and her father is trying not to step on the train or trip on something.  It looks like he's remembering his own memories of his wedding, his little girl, the woman she's become, and the future (grandchildren!).

This photograph was taken on Saturday, 21 March 1970 at Chula Vista Presbyterian Church at about 2:30 p.m.  Linda, and her father, Lee Severt Leland (1911-2002), are about to step on the pristine white runner down the aisle.  Lee will hand his daughter off to her husband-to-be, vows will be taken, blessings will be made, and life will change for everybody.  Lee and Edna gain a son-in-law, Randy gains an excellent wife, and wonderful parents-in-law, and everybody lives happily ever after.  Until life throws the next curve ball.

Me?  I'm at the end of the white runner at the end of the aisle with butterflies in my stomach thinking how did I get so lucky - here she is now in my hand, and away we go.

The most important day of my life continues.

Very sweet - love the photo, Randy. A good marriage is a blessing for everyone involved. (can't say the same about my rather short one). Cheers!
