Hi Randy, I am descended from Simon Lobdell of Milford, CT. The old genealogy "Simon Lobdell-1646 Milford, Conn. and His Descendants" by Julia Ardelia Lobdell in 1907 states with no source cited that this Simon married Persis Pierce, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Cole Pierce. She suggested that the families knew each other in England or from the trip to New England. Have you come across any mention of a daughter Persis for this couple. I know Thomas had a sister Persis so it is a family name.
Hi, Linda. We may be cousins. My ggg grandmother Mary Lobdell married Peleg Allyn, and they are mentioned in the book by Julia Harrison Lobdell. The letter in the back that mentions their son Abijah was particularly interesting. I am still searching for more direct evidence to show a link between Mary and her ancestors listed in the book. Have you found much evidence to confirm Julia Lobdell's work?
