Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 285: 1739 Death Record of Elizabeth (Harwood) Prescott (1701-1739) in Westford, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - time to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the  1739 death record for Elizabeth (Harwood) Prescott (1701-1739) in Westford, Massachusetts:

The record for the death of Elizabeth Prescott is the second item on the right-hand page of the image above:

The transcription of this record is:

Elisabeth Prescott Wife of Jonas Prescott Juner
died December 27 day 1739
Recorded by me Jonas Prescott Junr Town Clerk
in the year 1739.

The source citation for this record is:

Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, digital images, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com), Westford Births, Marriages and Deaths, Page 41 (penned, image 27), Elizabeth Prescott death entry; citing original data from Massachusetts town and city clerk records in Jay and Delene Holbrook, Massachusetts Vital and Town Records (Provo, Utah : Holbrook Research Institute), Microfiche collection.

There is also a death record for Benjamin Prescott, the young son of Jonas Prescott Jr., in the fifth name on the page above.

Elizabeth (Harwood) Prescott (1701-1739) was Jonas Prescott's (1703-1784) second wife, and bore four children.  He lost his first wife, Elizabeth (Spaulding) Prescott (1705-1730) also, having bore two children.  He married his third wife, Rebecca (Jones) Prescott (1710-1802) in 1740, and bore three children with Jonas Prescott.

Jonas Prescott and Elizabeth (Harwood) Prescott are my sixth great-grandparents, through their daughter, Elizabeth Prescott (1734-1812), who married Zachariah Hildreth (1728-1784).

Our ancestors have overlapped before and now I see Prescott in your tree. By chance is there a Bailey/Bayly/Baillie/Bailli/e or any other spelling using those letters? I am looking for William Scott Bailey b. NH who married Laura Ann McCauley. She married 2nd Spencer Holycross in Ohio.
