Best of the Genea-Blogs - 5 to 11 June 2017

Hundreds of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Disaster Planning for Genealogists by Melissa Barker on A Genealogist in the Archives blog.

*  Mastering Genealogical Proof & Mastering Genealogical Documentation by Colleen G. Brown Pasquale on the Leaves & Branches blog.

*  5 Ways to Use Trello for Genealogy and Family History by Lisa Alzo on the Legacy News blog.

*  Remembering Dad with a Family History Interview Video by Lisa Louise Cooke on Lisa Louise Cooke's Genealogy Gems blog.

*   A Weekend at the Auckland (New Zealand) Family History Conference by Dick Eastman on the Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter blog.

*  Find "Missing" Family Photos on Instagram by Maureen Taylor on the Maureen Taylor blog.

*  How They Do It: D. Joshua Taylor by Janine Adams on the Organize Your Family History blog.

*  Finding Your Tribe -- Worth Writing About by Laura Hedgecock on the Treasure Chest of Memories blog.

*  DNA Groups on Facebook by Michele Simmons Lewis on the Ancestoring blog.

*  Everyone is Related to Everyone by Wayne Shepheard on the Discover Genealogy blog.

*  What is a 'Professional Genealogist?' by Amie Bowser Tennant on The Genealogy Reporter blog.

*  It's Not Just About Blogging... by a writer at the GeneabloggersTRIBE blog.

*  Research Like A Pro,  Part 2:  Analyze Your Sources by Diana Elder on the Family Locket blog.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and read their articles, and add their blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 1600 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
