4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

Sarah Allen was born 4 May 1717 in Sudbury, Massachusetts, the third child and first daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Grande) Allen of Sudbury[1].

Sarah married Jeremiah Knowlton of Concord, Massachusetts on 24 July 1735 in Sudbury[2].  They had five children born in Concord between 1736 and 1745.

The Knowlton family resided in Concord, Massachusetts throughout the rest of Sarah's life.

Jeremiah died in 1752, but there are no probate records.  Sarah Knowlton has two deeds in the Middlesex County land records:

*  On 14 June 1752, "spinster" Sarah Knowlton and Benjamin Barron sold one half of a well in Concord to Aaron Brown, hatter of Concord, situated on land lately belonging to Benjamin Fletcher for value received.  The deed was recorded 1 August 1754[3].

*  On 13 March 1762, Sarah Knowlton, widow of Concord, sold two parcels of land in Concord to Thomas Munroe, gentleman of Concord, for 20 pounds lawful money,  The first parcel was in the easterly part of Concord, and was one half of the house lot Sarah resided on, and included the eastern half of the house itself.  The parcel was bounded by land of Jonathan Puffer, on land of the heirs of Benjamin Barron, on land of the heirs of Aaron Brown, and on the highway.  A second parcel of 14 square rods was located on the southerly side of the highway.  The deed included her one quarter rights and interests in  the well on the property.  The deed was recorded on 2 October 1762[4].

The death record in the Concord vital record book says[5]

"Widow [Sarah] Knowlton, aged 77 [wid. of Jeremiah], May 10, 1796"

There are no burial records or probate records for Sarah (Allen) Knowlton in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
