Vincent and Heather Rojo Visit in June 2014 -- Post 509 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I'm posting family photographs from my collection on Wednesdays, but they aren't Wordless Wednesday posts like others do - I simply am incapable of having a wordless post.

In early June 2014, our friends Vincent and Heather (Wilkinson) Rojo visited San Diego before going on to the SCGS Genealogy Jamboree, and we drove them around the tourist spots.  Heather writes the excellent and popular Nutfield Genealogy blog.

1)  Here are Vincent and Heather at Cabrillo National Monument on the end of Point Loma overlooking the entrance to San Diego Bay:

2)  On the west side of Point Loma are the Sunset Cliffs - they are gradually eroding but provide some interesting sandstone vs. waves photos:

3)  Linda took a photo of Vincent and Heather with some of Sunset Cliffs in the background

4)  That evening, we met mutual friend geneablogger Ruth Himan (then of Chula Vista, but now in northern California) for dinner in Coronado:

We gave Vincent and Heather a fairly long tour of the beaches of San Diego, up to Mission and Pacific Beach and La Jolla, through Old Town and Mission Valley, plus a ride down the Lucinda Street hill with my grandparents house at the bottom of it, around Shelter Island, and through downtown and around beautiful Chula Vista.

More photos next week!

That was a wonderful day, Randy! We have very fond memories of your tour of San Diego. Thanks for bringing up those memories again.
