Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:
1) Moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Research Group meeting with 13 in attendance at the Library I reported on Family Tree Maker 2019, the upcoming SDGS seminar, the VGA Conference in November, using Ancestry WebHints and Member Tree person Searches, and reviewed some of the online Book websites.
2) Updated my Legacy Family Tree genealogy software and uploaded a recent GEDCOM file to it for report creation and statistics purposes.
3) Linda and I spent Saturday in Huntington Beach with daughter Tami and her family. We watched Charlie's soccer game at 11 a.m., and Audrey's soccer game at 1 p.m. Had pizza for lunch, watched TV and talked, and went to Marie Callender's for dinner. We were home by 8 p.m.
4) Watched one Legacy Family Tree Webinar -- Basics of Land Platting - Part 1, by J. Mark Lowe.
5) Wrote and posted a biography of 6th great-grandfather #502 Jonathan Lewis (1715-1786) for my 52 Ancestors ancestor sketch on Friday.
6) Transcribed the 1816 mortgage deed of 4th great-grandfather Nathan Gates selling land in Gardner, Massachusetts to John Miles for Amanuensis Monday.
7) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 32,041 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.
8) I continue to use Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 54,316 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 108,220 source citations. I TreeShared twice this week updating 228 profiles, and I resolved 916 Ancestry Hints. I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 113,897 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.
9) Wrote 18 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which two were a press release. The most popular post last week was Family Tree Maker 2019 News - Last Day For $39.95 Upgrade is 14 August with over 308 views.
