Randy and Linda on Lake Winnipesaukee in Jul 2004 -- Post 697 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs:

Linda and I took a vacation to New England in July 2004.  My uncle, Edward Richmond Seaver (1913-2004) died 14 February 2004 in Arizona, and the family gathered in Leominster, Massachusetts to bury him in Evergreen Cemetery with his late wife, Janet (Roukes) Seaver.

On this trip, we took the time to visit with the New Hampshire cousins, and stayed with my first cousin Virginia for several days in Salem, New Hampshire in her 1700's era salt-box house.  I have a lot of family photos from this trip plus house photos and cemetery photos.  This photo shows Linda and I riding along having a fun and relaxing time.

One of the New Hampshire family's traditions was summer boating on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.  This photo shows Linda and I riding along having a fun and relaxing time.  My cousin Diana's husband, Chuck, had a boat and we got to ride in at around the lake along with their family.   We had a wonderful day in the warm air and there is plenty of pretty scenery around the lake.  I love New England!

What town on Winnipesaukee did you stay at? My aunt's family still owns a cottage on Spindle Point in Meredith. I spent every summer of my teens years on the lake. I loved it!

Hi Linda, we didn't stay the night. It was a day trip from Salem. I recall going through Laconia but not much else.

Laconia is about 10 miles south of Meredith. If you went past Weirs Beach on your boat ride, then Lighthouse Point (which is the tip of Spindle Point), where my family is, would have been straight ahead of you. You can see the lighthouse from the Weirs.

What a beautiful area! That lake looks gorgeous, and you and Linda look like you are enjoying yourselves on the boat!
