Most if not all of the contracts specify who can access the record collection. Therefore, for that specific collection you mention, the access is allowed to LDS members only.

You could ask someone who is LDS to look for the record for you. They may not want to or not be able to do that.

The extracted information may be the best you can obtain in that case.
Randy Seaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17477703429102065294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26204193.post-13892638156625322472019-09-01T15:22:56.773-07:002019-09-01T15:22:56.773-07:00What is happening at FamilySearch???
In the past,...What is happening at FamilySearch???

In the past, I have often been able to access documents about my ancestors.

Quite recently, every single collection I search in is happy to tell me the transcription of a document (we all know there is more information on the actual document); but rather than allow me to view it online, I am told that I must sign in as LDS (which I am not), or go to an LDS center in order to view the document. That is extremely inconvenient for me - it simply won't happen.

Today, I was excited to find baptism, marriage, and burial information about my gr-gr-grandparents, from Germany; but this time there was only ONE choice if I wanted to view the record:
"To view these images you must do one of the following:
• Sign in to FamilySearch as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"

I've really appreciated your information on added & updated record collections at Family Search, in the past; at this point - well, I'm not converting to Mormonism, so I guess I won't waste my time going to their site!

Has anyone else experienced this frustration??

anitabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00581214810248124603noreply@blogger.com
