Your reporting benefits all of us.

The CAGRs (compound annual growth rates) Ancestry is reporting are encouraging for the industry's sake. I believe they are more important than their churn issues, which they are addressing. (I hope Paul Allen "the lesser" over at FamilyLink is pleased with what they have done with his "baby".)

Keep up the good work,

Rob Dunford, CEO/CMO
LastingLinks.comRobert R. Mistake upon mistake; not just a stray 5, but also "monthly" where it clearly should say "quarterly". Sigh.

The point I was trying to make is that surely the quarterly numbers should honestly list a quarterly churn of 10,8 % and not throw in a monthly churn instead.

- TamuraTamura Joneshttp://www.tamurajones.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26204193.post-74980356507412095332010-01-22T22:36:06.041-08:002010-01-22T22:36:06.041-08:00I have no clue how to delete Tamura's first co...I have no clue how to delete Tamura's first comment per his request...sorry.

I think Tamura meant 10.8% was the quarterly churn, not the monthly churn which was clearly stated as 3.6% for the last two quarters of 2009.Randy Seaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17477703429102065294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26204193.post-41290662228218003602010-01-22T21:39:13.895-08:002010-01-22T21:39:13.895-08:00It is interesting that Ancestry.com reports quarte...It is interesting that Ancestry.com reports quarterly results for subscriber numbers,
but then goes to the deliberate trouble of messing up their quarterly numbers with a monthly churn.
Apparently, they are too embarrassed to admit that their monthly churn is 10,8 %.
Well, Ancestry.com management has reason to be embarrassed; it is a dismal annual churn rate of 43,2 % (1).

(1) Annual churn is a measure representing the number of subscribers that cancel in the quarter divided by the sum of beginning subscribers and subscriber additions during the quarter.
