What he is holding in ...That's a lovely photo.

What he is holding in his right hand is mysterious. A riding crop would not be so thin and would be shorter than the length shown in the image -- with a handle having a loop (think the sort of thing many umbrellas have).

A fly-fishing rod? I am not sure any were made of metal at that time, and I see no 'eyes' for the line.

Fencing foil? It would not be held that way.

Something to do with his occupation?Geoloverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12050268303916428230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26204193.post-30252038657809418022013-05-02T07:29:26.297-07:002013-05-02T07:29:26.297-07:00No surprise but my relatives also lived in McCook ...No surprise but my relatives also lived in McCook and within the past month found the remarriage and death information for her. When I saw McCook in your post I thought sure you'd found another of my relatives but I guess not this time. Now I'm wondering how many of "our" relatives you've posted about before I found you! The one last week was also mine so I did put it on ancestry as a story just like I did the first one I got from you. I just copied and pasted the whole thing. That way your comments and your info went there with it. You never know who might see it and want to find you. Thanks, Randy!Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13256855136448978468noreply@blogger.com
