CGSSD Meeting on Saturday, 21 January Features Denise Spurlock


The Computer Genealogy Society of San Diego meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month (except December) from 9:00 a.m. to noon on the campus of UCSD, University of California, San Diego. See our map page for directions.
The next meeting of the will be held on 21 January 2012 from 9:00 am to noon. Here are the details:

Using Dropbox in Genealogy

Learn about Dropbox (an “in-the-cloud” file storage system), how to open a free account, use it to organize and backup genealogy files, and share with family and friends.

Denise Spurlock, a former educator at the post-secondary level, has over 20 years of experience in family research. She holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University’s Center for Professional Education. She offers a variety of research services to clients. Denise is a member of the Southern California Genealogical Society, Utah Genealogical Association, National Genealogical Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society, and Association of Professional Genealogists. She is the newsletter editor for the Southern California Chapter of the APG. She writes three genealogy blogs: Denise’s Life in the Past Lane (, Reflecting on Genealogy (, and The SoCalGenie (
We meet at the Robinson Auditorium complex on the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus in La Jolla. From North Torrey Pines Road, turn at Pangea Drive into UCSD. Free parking is available in the parking garage on the left; use any space other than those specifically reserved for UCSD vehicles. Signs will mark directions to our meeting room.
