Fred and his Two Sons in About 1948 -- Post 550 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

Several months ago, I discovered an envelope of small photographs saved when my mother died in 2002 - it was hiding in plain sight in the Genea-Cave! 

Included in the photo cache was this oldie-but-goodie - a photograph of my father with his first two sons:

That's my brother, Stan (about age 2), my father Frederick Walton Seaver (about age 37), and me (about age 5) in the foreground.  The couple with the little boy in the background is the Erskine family (according to the writing on the back of the photograph).  Mrs. Erskine was probably one of my mother's friends.

Based on the estimated age of Stan and Randy, I think this was probably taken in about 1948.  It was probably taken by my mother.  

My guess is that the setting was in Spanish Village, an art enclave in Balboa Park where my mother would go for "therapy" in the late 1940s to get away from her three guys and do something creative.  She had art friends there, and sometimes went with Fred's cousin, Dorothy (Taylor) Chamberlain.  This may have been an art show or a meet-and-greet at the Spanish Village with food.  It looks like I am chewing on something, and Stan has something in his hand.  I have no memory of this, of course.
