My friend, Marshall, has come up with a program to determine which collections are ADDED, DELETED or UPDATED.  Thanks to Marshall for helping us out here!

Note that all of the Updated, Added To and Removed collections have a "last updated" date of 4 May 2016.  That is probably not right.  Marshall determined that the date is in the FamilySearch provided list and not in his program.


Careful readers will note that there are 7 new collections on the list above, but the list on FamilySearch shows only an increase of 5.  Perhaps the list on FamilySearch will change overnight.  I do this at around 9 p.m. on Friday night.

In order to select a specific record collection on FamilySearch, go to  https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list and use the "Filter by collection name" feature in the upper left-hand corner and use keywords (e.g. "church england") to find collections with those keywords.

Each one of the collections listed above has a Research Wiki page (use the "Learn more" link).  It would be very useful if the Wiki page for each collection listed the dates for when the collection was added as a new collection and the dates for major updates also.
