Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1771 Death Record of Mehitabel (Hartshorn) Guild of Dedham, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1771 death record of Mehitable (Hartshorn) Guild in the Dedham, Massachusetts vital record book:
The Mehitabel Guild death record is the 10th above the bottom of the page:

The transcription of this record is:

"Feb. 10, 1771.  Died, Mehitabel Guild (wife of Nath'l Guild), aged 88 years, who had for many years been a midwife."

The source citation for this record is:

Don Gleason Hill (editor), The Record of Births, Marriages and Deaths in the Town of Dedham, 1635-1845 (Dedham, Mass. : Town of Dedham, 1886), "Dedham Church Records," page 166, Mehitabel Guild death entry, 10 February 1771.

This is a Derivative Source record for the death of Mehitabel (Hartshorn) Guild.
It is Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the death date and place, and the name of her husband.  The original source records are probably Dedham church records for the time period that are either lost or unavailable to digitize, but were indexed back in the 1880s.

Mehitabel (Hartshorn) Guild (1683-1771),
daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Burt) Hartshorn of Reading, Massachusetts.  Mehitabel married Nathaniel Guild (1679-1774) before 1708, probably in Dedham.  They are my 7th great-grandparents, through their son Nathaniel Guild (1712-1796) who married Mary Boyden (1708-1776) in 1733 in Dedham.
