It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the 1680 marriage record of Nathaniel Pierce and Elizabeth Foster in the Woburn, Massachusetts vital record book:The Pierce-Foster marriage record is the 7th from the top on the page:"Nathaniel Pierce and Elizabeth Foster, March 23, 1680"
The source citation for this record is:
Edward F. Johnson, Woburn Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths [5 Volumes], (Woburn, Mass.: The News Print, 1893), Volume 3, Page 209, Nathaniel Pierce and Elizabeth Foster entry, 23 March 1680.
This is a Derivative Source record for the marriage of Nathaniel Pierce and Elizabeth Foster. It is Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the marriage date, place, and the names of Nathaniel and Elizabeth. The original record is probably a Woburn town record book that was transcribed and is no longer available.
Nathaniel Pierce (1656-1692) and Elizabeth (Pierce) (Whittemore) Foster (1646-????) are my 7th great-grandparents, through their daughter Mary Pierce (1682-1713) who married Thomas Dill (1682-1718).
