Seavers In The News -- Mrs. Samuel R. Seaver Dies in 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri

It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Kansas City [Mo.] Times newspaper dated 20 November 1952:

The transcription of the article is:

This obituary provides a name, an age, a death date and place, the names of her husband, children and siblings, a lead for her maiden name, plus a short description of her husband's occupation.

Ethel Daisy Bush was born 19 June 1883 in Tecumseh, Nebraska, the daughter of David R. and Sarah E. (Ross) Bush.  She died 19 November 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She married Samuel ross Seaver (1884-1966) on 6 May 1906 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  They had five children:

*  Samuel Ross Seaver (1907-1911).
*  Helen Elizabeth Seaver (1910-1977), married 1931 Paul Emerson Burks (1907-1982).
*  Arthur Twining Seaver (1912-1998), married 1934 Dorothy Maydelle Shawver (1913-1982).
*  Eugene Robert Seaver (1915-1993), married 1943 Emily Hope McCoy (1914-2003).
*  Jack P. Seaver (1918-1997), married 1941 Amy Lucille Wahlberg (1919-2000).

I am a 5th cousin 3x removed to Samuel Ross Seaver.  Our common Seaver ancestors are my 8th great-grandparents Joseph and Mary (Read) Seaver.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has all of her family members named in their obitury. I am glad that I can honor Ethel Daisy (Bush) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
