Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 4 to 10 July 2021

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

My Genealogical Process - Part 2 of 2 by Don Taylor on Don Taylor Genealogy.

Analyzing a Complex Challenge on FamilySearch Family Tree: Part One and Part Two by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.

Writing the Difficult Chapters of  Your Story: An Overview by Laura Hedgecock on Treasure Chest of Memories.

Building a Locality Guide: More on Records, Newspapers by Cari Taplin on Genealogy Pants.

The WikiTree Challenge - From the Inside by Louis Kessler on Behold Genealogy.

A Deep Dive Into the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) by Gena Philibert-Ortega on Legacy News.

Foundations For Genetic Genealogy Success:  Profiles and Family Trees by Paul Woodbury on Legacy Tree Genealogists.

What I Know About Catherine by Jacqi Stevens on A Family Tapestry.

Two Tricks by Jim Bartlett on Segment-ology.

Three Sages by Jeff Record on Vita Brevis.

Don.t Be Like My DNA Cousin by Ellen Thompson-Jennings on Hound On the Hunt.

32 Free Genealogy and Newspaper Research Quick Reference Guides by Kenneth R. Marks on The Ancestor Hunt.

Ancestors Who Were Deaf by Judith Batchelor on Genealogy Jude.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 9th July 2021 by Crissouili on That Moment In Time.

This Week's Creme de la Creme - July 10, 2021  by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte,

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
