Seavers in the News - Marie R. Seaver Dies in 1958 in Randolph, Vermont

It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Barre [Vt.] Daily Times newspaper dated 4 December 1958:

The transcription of the article is:

"Mrs. Marie R. Seaver

This obituary provides the name, birth date and place, parents names, death date and place, age, spouse's name, children names, one sibling's name, and several associations.

Marie Roberts was born 19 December 1874 in West Pawlet, Vermont, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Jones) Roberts.  She died 3 December 1958 in Randolph, Vermont.  She married Carl West Seaver (1869-1947) on 27 March 1895 in Williamstown, Vermont.  They had two children:

*  Hugh Leland Seaver (1897-1979), married 1928 Ethel Pearl Rye (1893-1977).
*  Howell Ashton Seaver (1901-1943), married 1924 Rhoda Mae Bruce (1900-1993).

Carl Weston Seaver is my 7th cousin 3x removed.  The common Seaver ancestor is Robert Seaver (1608-1683) of Roxbury, Massachusetts.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person's obituary has a lot of life information. I am glad that I can honor Marie R. (Roberts) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
