It's Treasure Chest Thursday - an opportunity to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history research and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the 1766 baptism record of William Rich in the Erlestoke, Wiltshire parish register:The baptism entry for William Rich is the 4th entry at the top of the page of "1766" on the image:
The transcription of the information on this record is:
"[1766] William Son of Robert & Mary Rich bap'd July 30'th"
The source citation for this census record is:
This is an Original Source record (because it is a church parish record book with information recorded as it occurred) with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the name, parents and baptism date and place of William Rich.
William Rich was baptized 30 July 1766 in Erlestoke parish church in Wiltshire, the son of Robert and Mary (Cook) Rich. He was buried 25 November 1835 in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. William married Elizabeth "Betty" Noad (1767-????) on 27 January 1788 in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
William and Elizabeth (Noad) Rich are my 4th great-grandparents. They had at least 6 children, including my 3rd great-grandfather John Rich (1790-1868) who married Rebecca Hill (1790-1862) in 1815 in Hilperton, Wiltshire.
