Aunt Gerry and Randy In 2002 -- (Not So) Wordless Wednesday #930

This is a priceless (to me) image in my computer file folders from the Seaver family collection:

This photograph is of my aunt, my father's youngest sibling, Geraldine (Seaver) Remley (1917-2007) and me in 2002 while we were visiting she and her husband, James Howard Remley, in 2002 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.  

Aunt Gerry was the comsummate family historian -- she kept in touch with all of her siblings, all of her nieces and nephews, and many more people, via letter and phone calls.  She cared for her mother in her last two decades of her mother's life, and knew all of the family stories.  She had a number of photograph albums with captioned pictures that the family graciously passed on to me.  Gerry encouraged me and marveled at my research findings about our family and her ancestry.  Most importantly, Gerry made four hour-long audio cassette tapes in 1989 telling stories about her life and our Seaver and Richmond families, in her broad New England accent, that I transcribed and have used in my research. Aunt Gerry was a gem!

This event is part of my family history!!
