Added and Updated FamilySearch Record Collections - Week of 19 to 25 September 2026

Each week, I try to keep track of the number of Full-Text Search collections (indexed, searchable) and the Images collections (browsable but not searchable) -- see Sections 1) and 2) below. In addition, I list the genealogy historical record collections (often name-indexed) that are added, removed, and/or updated on FamilySearch and listed on the Historical Record Collection list  --  See Section 3.

1)  As of 25 September 2026, there are now 6,745 searchable and full-text transcribed image collections on FamilySearch Full-Text Search this week, an increase of 1 from last week. There are over 2 BILLION "results" in the collections.  It is not possible to see which collections are new, although a clue would be the Last Updated column. 

 2)  As of 25 September 2026 there are now 26,264 browsable (some indexed, none transcribed) image collections on FamilySearch Images this week, an increase of 63 from last week. There are over 6.178 BILLION images in these collections.  There are 2,186 collections from the United States, 7,302 from Europe and 222 from Canada.  It is not possible to see which collections are new. Note that the listing now indicates the indexed percentage of some collections.  

3)  As of 25 September 2026, there are 3,505 Historical Record Collections (many indexed, many browsable) on FamilySearch (an increase of 2 from last week):

My friend and colleague Marshall, who usually provides a neat list every week of the deleted, added and updated Historical Record Collections, is on vacation this week and cannot provide the list.
