Treasure Chest Thursday - 1721 Baptism Record of ____ Potman in Freehold, N.J.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1721 baptism record of _____ Potman  in the Freehold and Middletown, New Jersey, Dutch Reformed Church records:

The baptism record of _____ Potman:

The  information from this record is:

[1721]  Apr. 9, _____ of David Potman  {205}

The source citation for this record is:

"U.S. Dutch Reformed Church Records from Selected States, 1639-1989," digital images, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com, New Jersey > Freehold and Middletown > Freehold and Middletown, Part 1, Book 61A, page 17 (image 182 of 529), _______ Potman baptism entry.

This is a Derivative Source record of the Dutch Reformed Church in Freehold and Middletown, New Jersey.  It appears to be an orderly transcription of the church record from an earlier record book.

Ancestry.com indexed this record as "Polman" but the "New Jersey Birth and Christenings Index" collection on Ancestry.com lists it as "Potman."  It appears that the amanuensis who added this to the new record book forgot to cross the "t."

Putman family researchers say that this record is for Victor Davidse Putman, son of David and Helena (--?--) Putman who resided in Freehold, New Jersey in this time frame.

Victor Davise Putman (1721-1765) is my 6th great-grandfather, who married Margaret Wies (1726-????) in about 1745, through their son Peter Victorse Putman (1760-1835) who married Sarah Kinnan (1760-1841) in 1780.
