Monday Genea-Pourri - Week Ending 29 December 2019

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:

1)  Watched one Family Tree Webinar video - Researching Your Italian Ancestors, by Ruth Merriman.  Interesting and informative.

2)  Wrote and posted a biographical sketch of 7th great-grandmother #521 Sarah (Hagar  Whitney (1651-1722) for my 52 Ancestors biographical sketch on Friday.  

3)  Transcribed a 1794 deed of  5th great-grandfather Simon Gates buying land in Gardner, Massachusetts from Lucas Dunn for Amanuensis Monday.

4)  Since we celebrated Christmas with our daughters a week ago Sunday, our Christmas holidays were pretty quiet.  We stayed home and rested, watched TV, worked on the computer, etc.  We did go out on Christmas day to eat dinner (and ended up at home) and saw the Christmas Circle lights and presentations.  

5)  Added Notes to about 10 more AncestryDNA matches with cM values, relationships and known common ancestors, and added one ThruLine to the RootsMagic family tree database.

6) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 33,934 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.

7)  Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 55,696 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 113,694 source citations.   I TreeShared twice this week updating 217 profiles, and I resolved 687 Ancestry Hints.  I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 122,341 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.    

8)  Started my end-of-year blog posts, highlighting Randy's "Best" Genea-Musings Posts in 2019, Randy's Best Genealogy Discoveries in 2019,  and Top 40 Most Viewed Posts in 2019 on Genea-Musings.

9) Wrote 20 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which none were press releases.  The most popular post last week was Historical Records of an American Santa Claus  with over  799 views.
