As noted in previous blog posts, I am researching and finding descendants of my 4th great-grandparents in order to help other researchers, including my autosomal DNA matches, find their ancestors.
Researchers can use Ctrl-F on their Windows computers, or Cmd-F on Mac computers, to find their names of interest in this blog post.
This is the 12th of a series of blog posts on descendants of my 4th great-grandparents. Since I have 64 4th great-grandparents, there will be 32 sets of descendants reports (one for each ancestral couple). You can read earlier descendants reports in the Randy's Genealogy page.
This is intended to be COUSIN BAIT on steroids (meaning perhaps someone will search for one or more ancestral names and find useful information). My hope is that other researchers will Google or use another search engine to find out more about their grandparents or great-grandparents and find this report and thereby gain more information about at least one ancestral line.
For over 35 years, I have been adding ancestral families to my genealogy software program - in recent years to RootsMagic. This report was created in RootsMagic 7 using the "Descendants Report" feature. I chose to use the "Henry System" numbering methodology because it assigns a unique number to each person, families are grouped together, so that ancestry can be traced from one generation to another. For more information on the "Henry System" see the Wikipedia description of the "Henry System."
Every family tree has errors of omission (leaving persons or data out) or commission (an error in a name, relationship, birth, marriage, death, or other entry, etc.). If you know of error(s) or have additions, please email me (randy.seaver (at) gmail.com) to suggest a correction or addition. I have source citations for many of the events shown in the descendants list, but they are not included (this report is already 32 pages long). All of this information is in my Ancestry Member Tree and most of my ancestral and collateral families are in FamilySearch Family Tree. I will update these descendants posts occasionally as I add significant new information.
Humphrey White (1757-1814) if Bristol county, Massachusetts and Providence County, Rhode Island is my 4th great-grandfather. He married Sibel Kirby (1764-1848) on 11 February 1786 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
Here are five generations of their descendants (my ancestral line is in red) as I have them today (I am missing some 19th century descendants and many 20th century descendants in the fourth and fifth generations):
