It's Saturday Night -
time for more Genealogy Fun!
Your mission, should you decide to accept it (cue the Mission Impossible! music) is to:
1) Let's play the game "Two Truths - One Lie." Tell three family stories - two must be true, and one must be a lie - an untruth.
2) Have your readers guess which story was the lie, and their reasons for picking that story.
3) Share your three stories on your own blog, on Facebook or Google+, or in a Comment on this blog. Share the link to your stories on this blog, so readers can respond.
4) After all Comments are in, share the Lie in a Comment on your post.
Here's my three stories:
1) My 2nd great-grandfather Devier Smith (1839-1894) was adopted by Ranslow and Mary (Bell) Smith in Jefferson County, N.Y.
2) My 2nd great-grandfather Isaac Seaver (1823-1901) was in the Civil War, and his pension file says he had a bullet wound in his neck.
3) I may have a step-sibling because my father Fred Seaver (1911-1983) left Massachusetts in 1940 after a failed love affair. His sisters said the girl was pregnant.
Which one is the lie?
