Elizabeth
Putman was born on 1 January 1820 in Wayne, Steuben County, New
York,[1,7] the first daughter and fourth child (of eight) of
John Pieterse Putman (1785-1863) and Sarah Martin (1792-1860), who
married in about 1810 in New York. Elizabeth’s siblings were Peter
W. Putman (1812-1882), Martin Mulford Putman (1816-1892), Isaac
Kinnan Putman (1820-1891), Rebecca Putman (1822-1852), Mary Putman
(1825-1912), Martha Putman (1829-????), and William C. Putman
(1834-1893).

Putnam provided information about the John and Sarah (Martin) Putman
family in Steuben County, New York and Norfolk County, Ontario on his
