2012 Opening Day for the Padres -- Post 455 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

This week's photos are from the Thursday, 5 April 2012 Opening Day of the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in downtown San Diego.

1)  The teams are along the sidelines, and the sailors are in the outfield before they display the large American Flag:

2)  The flag is unfurled and supported off the ground by all the sailors on the field, and the Star Spangled Banner played:

3)  And then the fireworks along the upper deck and on the field go off:

Linda and I have had 20 game season's tickets since 1998, the last World Series year for the Padres.  We currently sit in the handicap section in Section 306 in the upper deck on the third base side.  We look right down the first base line.
