I'm posting old family photographs from my collection on Wednesdays, but they won't be wordless posts like others do - I simply am incapable of having a wordless post.
Here is one of the most precious (to me) images from my Auble/Carringer family collection:
This is Charles Auble (1849-1916), my great-grandfather. He was born in Newton, Sussex County, NJ to David and Sarah (Knapp) Auble. He married Georgianna Kemp on 29 June 1898 in Milwaukee, WI. I posted my biography of Charles Auble here.
This picture was taken in about 1898, perhaps at the time of his marriage. Doesn't he look very distinguished? Charlie was a painter, although I'm not sure if he was an artist or a house painter. I think the latter, but I'm not sure.
This photograph was handed down from Charles and Georgianna (Kemp) Auble to their daughter Emily Kemp (Auble) Carringer (who married Lyle L. Carringer), to their daughter Betty Virginia (Carringer) Seaver (who married Fred Seaver) to me, their son.
I fear that I inherited Charlie's hairline...
