Alexander Whittle was the 3rd child of at least 8 born to John Whittle and Mary Fallows in Chorley, Lancashire.  He married Margaret Mansley in 1797 in Chorley, Lancashire. Their son, Alexander Whittle (1818-1853) married Rachel Morley (1821-1861) in 1840 in Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire..

Alexander and Margaret (Mansley) Whittle are my wife's third great-grandparents.
