Photos From the RootsTech 2018 DearMYRTLE After-Party

Linda and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2018 DearMYRTLE After Party at the home of Gordon and Pat Richley-Erickson in South Jordan, Utah.  About 35 geneabloggers and friends made the 20 mile trek to the Erickson home and enjoyed Olive Garden food and many homemade and country-specific desserts.  Pat;'s daughters, Tam and Stacey were the kitchen crew and did a great job.  Gordon picked up Hilary Gadsby, Russ Worthington, Linda and me and the Radisson Hotel at 6:45 p.m. and we made it to the party at 7:15.

I took some photos, but not as many as I wish I had, since I didn't capture everyone in attendance.  Daniel Horowitz and his mother came late (his mother was my match in the AncestryDNA Badge game - I didn't realize that until this night).

1)  Pat honored Russ Worthington with a shadow box of his great-grandfather Samuel Worthington, Company A, 11th Kansas Cavalry. The medal and bar was for Union Civil War service.  This was a really special moment.

2)  Here are Laura Hedgecock, Elizabeth O'Neal, Leslie Lawson and Jill Ball on one side of the kitchen table:

3)  And Carole Steers, Kirsty Gray, Sylvia Valentine, and Pat Richley-Erickson on the other side of the table:

4)  Hillary Gadsby, Fran Kitto and Sharn White in the living room:

5)  Sandy Rumble and Lisa Christiansen on the couch in the living room:

6)  Dalton Smith (from Texas) and Caitlin Gow (from Australia) are cousins (see Pat's granddaughter Hannah photobombing this?):

7)  Xarol Petranek and Sheri Fenley put theirs heads together:

8)  Hannah stopped photobombing for a second and took a picture with my wife, Linda:

9)  The 2018 DearMYRTLE after-party memorial photograph - 32 attendees shown!

Our thanks to Gordon and Pat for their hospitality and making our Geneabloggers Tribe a lot of fun.

After the party, we rode back to the hotel on the van arranged by Pat for transport to and from the event while Gordon took Russ to the airport to fly home.  The snow held off until we got safely into the hotel.

10)  The morning after at the Radisson:

The Radisson manager said they got about six inches of snow - the roads were passable and we had no trouble getting to the airport and our plane was only 15 minutes late.  The snow stopped at about 11 a.m. so the plane didn't have to be de-iced.

Wonderful photos, wonderful events, wonderful memories. Glad the snow didn't put a damper on your travel plans.
