It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the 1708 birth record of Rachel Allen in the Dartmouth, Massachusetts town records:
The Rachel Allen birth record is on the left-hand page of the image above in the top section which lists all of the births of the Allen children:
"...Rachel Allen ye daughter of Joseph Allen and Rachel his wife was born ye 17^th of the month called July 1708..."

Rachel Allen (1708-1801) was the 4th child of 5 born to Joseph and Rachel (--?--) Allen of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. All of them are recorded in the town record on the left-hand page of the image above. She married Ichabod Kirby (1705-1793) in 1733 in Dartmouth.
Ichabod and Rachel (Allen) Kirby are my 6th great-grandparents. I am descended from their son David Kirby (1740-1832), who married Martha Soule (1743-1828) in 1763 and resided in Dartmouth and Westport, Massachusetts.
