Randy in Leominster, Mass. in 1966 -- Post 591 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post!  I found some more family photos hiding in my voluminous My Pictures file folder - This is one of my favorite photographs:

This photograph was taken by my Aunt Geraldine Seaver (my father's youngest sister) in April 1966.  This is me at age 22 visiting Massachusetts for the first time (I went on a business trip to Cambridge for my company) and stayed with Gerry in Newton.  We drove out to Leominster, Massachusetts (where my father and is siblings grew up) on the weekend.  The scene is in front of Leominster High School - I'm hanging onto the flagpole.  I was disappointed that there was no snow - I had never been in falling snow before.

This was the trip where I first met most of my Seaver relatives - Uncle Ed Seaver and his wife Janet, their son Peter and daughter Joan, my aunt Evelyn and Walter Wood and their daughter Virginia and son Walter (?), aunt Ruth and Bowers Fischer and their two daughters Barbie and Judy (?), and aunt Marion Braithwaite and her daughter Nancy (?).  I just happened to be in Massachusetts that weekend when my cousin Peter returned home from the Viet Nam War, and there was a big party at Aunt Ruth's house in Sterling to celebrate the homecoming.  I was told stories about my father - heh, what a bad boy he was to his older sisters!

I had only met Aunt Evelyn and Walter Wood, and their granddaughter Diana before this trip.  They brought my grandmother Alma Bessie (Richmond) Seaver (1882-1962) to San Diego in 1959 to visit my family. 

I made several other trips to Massachusetts in the late 1960s and got to know everyone pretty well.  Then they started coming to San Diego by 1968 - my cousins Joan and Diana stayed with my parents for a month or so during a summer, but I was out of the house by then.
