Seavers in The News - Dolores (Adams) Seaver (1862-1941) Dies in Massachusetts

It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Burlington [Vt.] Free Press newspaper dated 26 April 1941:

The transcription of the article is:

"Mrs. Dolores A. Seaver

"Mrs. Dolores A. Seaver," The Burlington [Vt.] Free Press  newspaper, obituary, Saturday, 26 April  1941, page 15, column 1, Dolores Adams Seaver obituary;  Newspapers.com   (https://www.newspapers.com : accessed 20 August 2020).

This obituary provides a death date, a death place, names of her deceased husband, two children and a sister.

Dolores K. (Adams) Seaver was born 12 December 1862 in Stowe, Vermont to Ezra Nason and Charlotte (Russell) Adams.  She married in September 1883 in Stowe to Arthur Stannard Seaver (1864-1936).  They had three children:

*  Katherine May Seaver (1884-1957).
*  Ora Everett Luce Seaver (1892-1962), married 1915 Great Weldon Miles (1892-1983).
*  Harry Seaver (1893-1894).

Arthur Stannard Seaver is my 6th cousin 4 times removed, with the common Seaver ancestor being Robert Seaver (1608-1683) of Roxbury, Massachusetts.

There are over 9,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and some people are known only by who they married.  I am glad that I can honor my distant cousin-in-law Dolores Adams Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
