Kalle and Aila at Hoover Dam in May 2003 -- Post 687 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I can't help it, I can't do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite photographs:

This photograph was taken in May 2003 with our friends from Tornio, Finland. Kalle and Aila, the parents of Mia (one of our 1994 exchange students), visited the USA and stayed with us in Chula Vista for about a week as part of their USA cross-country tour.

We stopped at Hoover Dam on the way from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, and snapped the photograph above of Kalle and Aila on top of the dam and beside a statue of a man (a dam builder?) rapeling down the mountainside.

During the week with them, we took a car trip to visit Tami and her family in Victorville, then to Las Vegas to sightsee and enjoy the casinos, and to the Grand Canyon, and then back to Chula Vista.
