Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1667 Birth Record of Joseph Morss (1667-1733) in Groton, Massachusetts

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1667 birth entry for Joseph Morss in the Groton, Massachusetts vital records book:

The birth entry is the 3rd entry in the Morss listings near the top of the page:
The transcription of this record is:

"[MORSS] Joseph, s. Joseph and Susanna, Nov. 11, 1667. CT.R."

The source citation for this record is:

Vital Records of Groton, Massachusetts to the End of the Year 1849 (Salem, Mass. : The Essex Institute, 1926-1927), Two volumes, Vol. 1, Births, page 155, Joseph Morss entry, 11 November 1667.

This is an entry in a published Groton, Massachusetts vital record book.  It is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth of Joseph Morss on 11 November 1667 in Groton, Massachusetts Bay.  The "CT.R.' refers to a Middlesex County Quarterly Court record book from which the record was transcribed.

Joseph Morss (1667-1733) was the son of Joseph and Susanna (Shattuck) Morse  of Groton, Massachusetts Bay.  He married Grace Warren (1671-1753) in 1690 in Watertown, Massachusetts Bay.  They are my 7th great-grandparents through their daughter Mary Morse (1697-????) who married James Maynard (1694-????) in 1719 in Marlborough.
