Seavers in the News - Hattie W. Seaver Dies in 1957 in Florida

 It's time for another edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from The Miami [Fla] Herald newspaper dated 27 April 1957:

The transcription of the article is:

"Mrs. Seaver Dead at 68

"Services for Mrs. Hattie W. Seaver, 68, of 1551 NW 15th St. Rd., will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Gerhardt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Flagler Cemetery.

"Mrs. Seaver, who died Friday in a local hospital, was a 19-year resident, coming here from Indianapolis.

"Surviving are two sons, Maxwell, Miami, and Bercell, Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Wildene Trimple, Indianapolis; three brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren."

The source citation is:

"Mrs. Seaver Dead at 68,The Miami [Fla.] Herald newspaper, Sunday, 7 April 1957, page 38, column 3, Hattie E. Seaver obituary; Newspapers.com   (https://www.newspapers.com : accessed 7 October  2021).

This obituary provides the name, home address, death date and place, childrens names, and no information about her employment and associations.

Hettie Florence Warman (1889-1957) was born 9 January 1889 in Clark County, Indiana, and died 5 April 1957 in Miami, Florida.  She was the daughter of Jonathan Lewis and Mary Jane (Cline) Warman.  She married  Roy James Seaver (1887-1971) on 30 August 1909 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  They had three children:

*  Bercell Warman Seaver (1910-1959), married (1) 1942 Dorothy May Cully (1910-1989); (2) 1955  Elizabeth Kupfersberger (1915-????).
*  Maxwell Foster Seaver (1914-1977), married 1947 Nadine Sauls (1918-1973)
*  Wildene Reid Seaver (1918-2003), married (1) 1930 Harold Leroy Trimble (1914-2006); (2) 1947 Attilio F. Cicerelli (????-????).

I am not related to Hettie (Warman) Seaver or Roy James Seaver to my knowledge.  Roy James Seaver is a descendant of Daniel and Julia (Holcomb) Seaver of New York.  Daniel may be a descendant of robert Seaver of Roxbury Massachusetts, but I have not found the link to Daniel's Seaver ancestry yet.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a very limited obituary. I am glad that I can honor Hettie Florence (Warman) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
