Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1742 Marriage Record for David Bathrick and Lydia Maynard in Westborough, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the marriage record for David Bathrick and Lyda Maynard in Westborough, Massachusetts Bay:

The death record is (on left hand page, just below the blank space):

The transcription of this record is:

"David Bathrick was Married to Lyda Maynard May y'e 12'th 1742 Both of this T[own]"

The source citation for this marriage record is:

"Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988," indexed database and digital image, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com : accessed 9 February 2022), Westborough > Births, Marriages, Deaths, page 245 (image 392 of 1417), David Bathrick and Lyda Maynard marriage entry, 12 May 1742.

This town record book is probably an Original Source, with Primary Information and Direct Evidence as to the names, marriage date and place.

David Bathrick (1722-1794), the son of John and Mary (--?--) Bathrick,  married Lydia Maynard (1722-1802), the daughter of James and Mary (Morse) Maynard,  on 12 May 1742 in Westborough, Massachusetts Bay.  They had seven children.

David and Lydia (Maynard) Bathrick are my 5th great-grandparents, through their daughter, Lydia Bathrick (1752-1795) who married Phinehas Brigham (1755-1802).
