Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 1 August 2022

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society General Meeting on Wednesday on Zoom with about 57 attendees.  Melissa Barker presented "Researching in Libraries and Archives: The Do’s and Don’ts."

2)  Worked on the CVGS web site to add August events following the death of our webmaster, Gary Brock.  Checked out the One Drive repository for CVGS papers and files - I need the username/password to add or delete anything.

3)  Published a genealogy biography for the 52 Ancestors series for 7th great-grandfather  #710 Abraham Tucker (1653-1725) of Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

4) Transcribed a probate record document -  1824 Will of Thomas Seaver of Townsend Massachusetts - for the Amanuensis Monday series.

5) AncestryDNA now has 40,561 DNA matches (up 20 from 25 July) for me today, with two new ThruLines.  MyHeritageDNA now has 10,579 DNA matches (up 12 from 25 July) for me, with no new Theories.  Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added notes to 2 AncestryDNA matches.

6)  There were three sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 48,278 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 118).

7) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 69,886 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 120 from 25 July), and 145,240 source citations (up 40). I TreeShared 42 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 391  Ancestry Hints. My current Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 25,136 to be resolved, but I work on them several times a week.

8) Wrote 13 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which one was a press release. The most viewed post last week was
Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 25 July 2022 with over 208 views.

9)  This is week 125 since COVID restrictions.  My recovery from heart surgery is almost complete.  Linda is at a memory care and skilled nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from home and I visited her six times last week.  I went shopping on Monday.  Lori and Logan came on Tuesday last week and left on Saturday morning.  Lori re-stocked my fridge with meals and did some cleaning out of the toy cabinet and book cabinet.  We went to the Padres game on Friday night and won 10-1.  I am still really tired every day, take at least two naps each day, and try to walk for 30 minutes every day on the block.  I watched the Padres games every day  and we are now 57-46 on the season (3-3 last week).
