Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 10 to 16 December 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for most daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Choosing the Technique Used for Case Studies by Jill Morelli on Genealogical Certification - A Personal Journal.

*  George and His Amazing Paper Trail by Marie Cooke Beckman on MarieB's Genealogy blog - Southeastern USA.

*  Looking More Closely at DNA Shared Matches by Angela Napolitano on Vita Brevis.

*  When Records Are Wrong: Why Original Research is Necessary by Kelly Wheaton on Wheaton Wood.

*  FamilyTreeDNA 2023 Update – Past, Present and Future by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  Genealogical Jenga by Jeff Record on The Descendants.

*  Looking Ahead to 2024 Genealogy Priorities by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.

*  NARA Land Records: Discovering Family History Details That Aren’t Online by Dana Leeds on Genealogy With Dana Leeds.

*  A Gem: Southern Claims Commission Case Files by Kathleen Brandt on a3Genealogy.

*  AI and Your Genealogy Notes by Lori Samuelson on GenealogyAtHeart.com.

*  Why is the FamilySearch tree an unmoderated wiki and what happens because it is not moderated? by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.

*  Finding Your Roots Season 10 Schedule Now Available!  by Thomas MacEntee on Genealogy Bargain$.

*  Improving Genealogy Research with Ancestry Pro Tools: A Comprehensive Guide by Mark Thompson on Making Family History.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  This Week's Creme de la  Creme - December 16, 2023 by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
