Treasure Chest Thursday - 1687 Marriage of John Wakeman and Martha Hubbell in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - an opportunity to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history research and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1687 marriage record of John Wakeman and Martha Hubbell in Fairfield, Connecticut:

The marriage record is in the middle of the page:

The transcript of this record is:

"WAKEMAN, John (?1660-1709) & Martha HUBBELL (-1710), ?24 Apr 1687; Fairfield, CT"

The source citation for the marriage record is:

"U.S. New England Marriages Prior to 1700," imaged, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com), page 772, John Wakeman and Martha Hubbell marriage entry, Fairfield, Conn., 24 April 1687; Original data from Torrey, Clarence A., New England Marriages Prior to 1700 (Baltimore, MD : Genealogical Publishing Co., 2004)

This is a Derivative Source record (because it is compiled from an original church record) with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the marriage of John Hubbell and Martha Hubbell on 24 April 1687 in Fairfield, Connecticut.

John Wakeman (1660-1709), the son of Samuel and Hannah (Goodyear) Wakeman, was born about 1660 in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony, and died 15 February 1708/9 in Fairfield.  He married Martha Hubbell (1659-1710), the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Meigs) Hubbell on 24 April 1687 in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony.  She was born  16 November 1659 in Guilford, Connecticut Colony, and died 5 June 1710 in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony.  They had 7 children.

John and Martha (Hubbell) Wakeman are my 8th great-grandparents, through their son Samuel Wakeman (1693-1771), who married Elizabeth --?-- (1695-1759)  in about 1720.
