Tombstone Tuesday - Aaron Smith in Medfield MA

Aaron Smith (1765-1841) was one of my 4th-great-grandfathers. I believe that his gravestone stands in Vine Lake Cemetery near the center of Medfield, and is probably next to or near that of his wife, Mercy (Plimpton) Smith (1772-1850). I received this photograph from a friend in the early 1990's (thank you, Linda T!):

Aaron Smith was born 29 May 1765 in Walpole, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, the son and first child of Moses and Patience (Hamant) Smith. He married Mercy Plimpton, daughter of Amos Plimpton and Mary Guild, on 6 October 1795 in Medfield, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Aaron and Mercy (Plimpton) smith had eight children - Susanna, Patience, Mary, Alpheus, Lucy, Elizabeth, Nancy and Aaron Smith. Alpheus (1802-1840) is my ancestral connection to Aaron and Mercy.
