Tombstone Tuesday - James and Hannah (Rich) Richmond in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam, Conn.

The Richmond gravestone in Grove Street Cemetery in Putnam, Connecticut marks the resting place of two generations of my Richmond ancestors.

My brother Scott and I visited Putnam in 1990, and met with our cousin, Russell Richmond, who gave us a tour of the Grove Street Cemetery.  We took some pictures, including:

That's me in 1990 standing beside the Richmond gravestone.  One one side of it is my great-grandparents, Thomas Richmond (1848-1917) and Juliet (White) Richmond (1848-1913) and their young son Frederic J. Richmond (1870-1875).

On the other side of the stone is the inscription for my great-great-grandparents, James Richmond (1821-1912) and Hannah (Rich) Richmond (1825-1911):

I need to get a better quality photo of these stones.

I don't remember a great deal about this 1990 visit to Grove Street Cemetery.  Russell knew exactly where the family stones were located, and drove us right to them.  It's a large cemetery, and we saw several other Richmond gravestones, but I only took these photos of the stones.
