There are 43 State Research Guides on the list above, and Iowa was just released.
As an example, here are some screen shots from the Pennsylvania State Research Guide:
a) The top of the guide includes a history narrative:
b) Further down the guide, specific record groups are discussed, with links to Ancestry.com databases for those record groups:
c) Further down the report, other state resources are listed (although I don't see links for FamilySearch record collections and Research Wiki):
d) Lastly, the Significant Dates (through 1940) are listed:
The Pennsylvania FREE State Research Guide is 7 pages. It can be printed, downloaded to your computer as a PDF file, or saved in EverNote or a similar program.
