Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 246: Samuel and Abigail (Fletcher) Whitney Family Records in Westminster, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - time to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasures today is the  Westminster, Massachusetts town record of the births and deaths of the family of Samuel and Abigail (Fletcher) Whitney in the 1750 to 1800 time period:

The transcription of this record is:

The source citation for this record is:

Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, digital images, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com : accessed 26 February 2012), "Westminster, Births, marriages and deaths," page 91 (penned), image 142 of 1195, Family of Samuel and Abigail Whitney.

I love it - after 13 children borne at essentially two year intervals between 1742 and 1767 to Abigail (Fletcher) Whitney, the recorder ends the page with "Amen."

Samuel Whitney (1719-1782) and Abigail Fletcher (1720-1783) are my fifth great-grandparents.  I am descended through their 12th child, Martha Whitney (1764-1832), who married Benjamin Seaver (1757-1816) in 1783 in Westminster.
