Linda Serna is Presenter at SDGS Meeting on Saturday, 13 May

The May program meeting of the San Diego Genealogical Society (SDGS) will be on Saturday, 13 May 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (8350 Lake Murray Blvd, at Jackson Drive, San Diego CA 92119).  

Linda Serna will be the presenter for both sessions.  Her presentations are:

1)  10 a.m.:  "A Visual Journey Beyond the Census"

2)  11:30 a.m.:  "WWI: The Great War"


Linda's biography is:

She has been involved with genealogy in researching and writing family stories for over 30 years. In addition, she was privileged to work as a genealogist for the first season of the PBS Genealogy Roadshow program.

Currently, she is Treasurer for the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (SCCAPG), and a member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), the Polish Genealogical Society (PGS-CA), and the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America (GSHA-CA) and Past VP of Programs for the Orange County California Genealogical Society (OCCGS).

Over the last 8 years, she has written and given several presentations on various topics for different groups in California and New Mexico. She is always in the process of writing new presentations. In addition to public speaking, she enjoys history, writing, and traveling. She especially likes seeing how individual family stories fit in and make up the fabric of history.

The SIG class at 9 a.m. in the upstairs classroom is "Ancestry.com" with Del Ritchhart.  Seating is limited - please register at sdgsclasses@gmail.com if you plan to attend.
