Randy and his Mom in 1943 -- Post 553 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

Several months ago, I discovered an envelope of small photographs saved when my mother died in 2002 - it was hiding in plain sight in the Genea-Cave!

Included in the photo cache was this oldie-but-goodie - a photograph of my mother holding me as a baby:

This photograph was probably taken in late 1943 or early 1944 since I look like an infant in this photograph.  My mother was dressed in a belted dress, so this photograph may have been taken at Christmas 1943.

The photograph was taken in the front stairs of the Marshall and Dorothy Chamberlain home at 4601 Terrace Drive in the Kensington neighborhood of San Diego.  We visited the Chamberlains as a family every year at Christmas time.  The entrance and windows had awnings for decades.

Today's thought:  I wonder if my mother was telling me "Smile for the camera - you will want to look good 75 years from now!"

I downloaded the We're Related app a few months ago, then removed it because I was not happy with the matches. A few weeks ago I tried to download the We're Related app a second time and the app was not found. It appears to have been removed or given a new name.
