Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 10 to 16 March 2019

Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

Rise of the Genealogy Entrepreneur by Donna Cox Baker on the Golden Egg Genealogist blog.

How to Use Ancestry.com's NEW MyTrees Tag Tool by Lisa Lisson on the Are You My Cousin? blog.

*  Ancestry’s ThruLines Dissected: How to Use and Not Get Bit by the ‘Gators by Roberta Estes on the DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy blog.

*  New Tools Everywhere! Exploring the New Tools at MyHeritage and AncestryDNA by Blaine Bettinger on The Genetic Genealogist blog.

My Problems With Ancestry.com Search Engines, Part 1; Part 2; Part 3; and Ancestry.com Search Engine Frustrations - An Update by Linda Stufflebean on the Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

A Tale of Two DNA Matches by Lois Mackin on the Lois Abromitis Mackin, Ph.D. blog.

How They Do It: Kenyatta D. Berry by Janine Adams on the Organize Your Family History blog.

Solving the Mystery of the Missing Person by Bryan L. Mulcahy on Leland Meitzler's  GenealogyBlog.

*  Things That Need To Be Said: Victims, Murder, and Judgement by Roberta Estes on the DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy blog.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on the Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

Friday Fossicking - 15th Mar 2019 by Crissouli on the That Moment in Time blog.

This Week's Creme de la Creme -- March 16, 2019  by Gail Dever on the Genealogy a la Carte blog.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and read their articles, and add their blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.

Thank you for the mention on your list this week. The filmstrip problem is partially fixed, which makes me a bit hopeful that other improvements might be coming along sometime soon.
