Best of the Genea-Blogs - 21 to 27 April 2019

Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Episode 279 – Ancestry Exec Reveals Record Set Releases For 2019/2020 / Melanie McComb Talks Jewish Records And Tips by Scott Fisher on the Extreme Genes blog.

*  6 Sources that May Name Your Ancestors’ Parents by Lisa Louise Cooke on the Lisa Louise Cooke blog.

*  Why Write a Family History if No One Wants to Read it by Devon Noel Lee on the Family History Fanatics blog.

How Genealogy in Germany Compares to U.S. Genealogy by James Beidler on the Family Tree blog.

Genealogy Brick wall Busting: Step 1 - Review Previous Research by Melissa Corn Finlay on the Boundless Genealogy blog.

Call Me Emmar! by Michael John Neill on the Rootdig blog.

Jeremy Bangs in Plymouth by Heather Wilkinson Rojo on the Nutfield Genealogy blog.

Collecting the Resources by Judy G. Russell on The Legal Genealogist blog.

Preserving Your Family history on a World Tree by Kitty Cooper on Kitty Cooper's Blog.

And We Are Off #FamilyTreeLive by Janet Few on The History Interpreter blog.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on the Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

Friday Fossicking - 26th April 2019 by Crissouli on the That Moment in Time blog.

This Week's Creme de la Creme -- April 27, 2019  by Gail Dever on the Genealogy a la Carte blog.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and read their articles, and add their blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.

Thanks for naming my blog post about the historian and author Jeremy Bangs' visit to Plymouth, Massachusetts!
